A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT...
|
|
Let your voice be heard . . . VOTE today!!!
|
I remember the first time I got to vote in a presidential election—1984. I was full of youthful excitement and proud to be part of the process of selecting our nation’s next leader.
As we get older, that excitement often fades. And in today’s political climate, it’s easy to feel disillusioned—to believe that your vote doesn’t matter. But that’s exactly what the extremes on both sides want you to think.
Spokane, Washington, and the United States can only become the best versions of themselves if everyone is engaged.
Does it take time to research the issues and the candidates? Yes. But if we don’t invest that time to vet our leaders, we’ll get exactly what we deserve.
I once lived in a community of 53,000, where three races in two years were decided by fewer than 100 votes. One race came down to just three. Even the 2024 presidential election was decided by a margin of just 1.5%.
Your voice matters.
Your vote matters.
Don’t forget to vote today (August 5th). And in the weeks ahead, start digging into the candidates and issues on the ballot this November—because these local elections really matter.
The City of Spokane is standing at the edge of a cliff. We can continue along the current path and go over the edge—or we can turn around and fight to save our city.
We have one of the most beautiful downtowns in the country. What you do in the coming months will help decide whether people return to enjoy all it has to offer—or whether the decline continues.

East Central matters—and so do you. Let’s get to work.
|
On April 8, 2003, the East Spokane Business Association was formally established as the organization we know today. But its foundation was built long before that—in the grit of local entrepreneurs, the vision of community leaders, and the unshakable belief that East Spokane deserved a stronger voice.
Born out of a need to unify the area’s businesses and advocate for growth, safety, and opportunity, the Association became more than a name—it became a movement. Prior to its official formation, informal collaborations and neighborhood alliances had already begun laying the groundwork. These early efforts—small business meetings over coffee, grassroots discussions about infrastructure and safety—sparked the idea that together, East Spokane’s business owners could accomplish far more than they could alone.
By April 2003, those sparks ignited. The East Spokane Business Association was formalized to represent and amplify the concerns and contributions of the east side’s commercial corridors. Since then, the organization has grown into a powerful force for business advocacy, economic development, and civic engagement—shaping policies, supporting local entrepreneurs, and helping ensure that East Spokane isn’t just seen, but heard.

Now she gives back to the very community that saved her—because addiction may have tried to write her ending, but a parent’s love refused to let go, and the strength of community resources carried her through. She didn’t just survive; she transformed.
As our story continues, be on the lookout for our next episode—a deeply personal journey told first-hand, where resilience meets redemption and hope comes full circle.
