A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT...
|
On Tuesday, September 23rd, the Spokane Business Association gathered with a record crowd of more than 700 people for our Annual Dinner.
It was a night that proved Spokane’s business community is not backing down. Together, we connected, reflected, and looked ahead. Former four-term Boise Mayor Dave Bieter delivered a powerful keynote, and we premiered our annual SBA video—already viewed thousands of times—spotlighting both the challenges Spokane faces and the opportunities still within our reach.

But the real story is this: none of it happens without you.
To our sponsors—you made this evening possible. To every member, partner, and community leader in the room—you are the reason Spokane still has a fighting chance. You show up, you invest, and you keep pressing forward when walking away would be easier. Special thanks to the SBA staff—Sherri, Gavin, and so many others—for volunteering their time to make our evening a success.
This dinner wasn’t just a celebration. It was a charge. The work is not done.
We will keep pressing for laws and policies that allow our police to enforce health and safety standards. Spokane can reclaim its public spaces. Spokane can be the gathering place of Eastern Washington. But it will take courage from leaders, accountability from government, and a unified voice from us—the business community that refuses to settle for decline.
Thank you for standing with us. The fight for Spokane continues, and so do we.

The Spokane Business Association has examined the state of homelessness and addiction in our city. The future of Spokane rests in all of our hands. Titles and positions matter less than the courage to reach across the aisle, make the call, and extend a hand. What we are doing now is not working. It’s time to try another way.
This work can—and must—be done. Closing your eyes and pretending that you are “protecting rights” only deceives yourself. True rights are shelter, food, help, and the chance at a life worth living.
